What is a Hair Glaze and Why Should I Get One?
What we call a hair Glaze here at Salon Cartier goes by many names in the rest of the world.
Shine-Enhancing Treatment, Cellophane Treatment, Color-Balancing, Color-Refreshing are just a few.
So what is a Hair Glaze exactly?
A Glaze is a semi-permanent treatment meant to enhance shine, help smooth ends, and sometimes even enrich or balance out hair color.
Glazes are acidic in nature, which means not only will it help balance out the PH levels in your hair, but also shut down the cuticle of your hair leaving it shinier, smoother, while keeping the color in the ends “locked” in.
You can get a colored glaze which can alter the color of your hair, refresh faded ends, tone blonde, add depth, or add a little kick to the color you already have.
Unlike permanent hair color, Glazes are semi-permanent. This means they will slowly wash out of hair (no root grow-out line) in about 6-8 weeks.
If you don’t want any color in your hair, you can get a Clear Glaze. Clear Glazes have no color, but add an immense amount of shine, plus all the other benefits previously discussed. It makes a great add on to a haircut appointment!
I personally recommend a Glaze to all of my clients. They are great for all types of hair.
