How To Clean A Hairbrush At Home
If I told you that the old hair in your hairbrush is hurting your hairstyle would you clean it more regularly? The answer should be YES! The old hair in your brushes has leftover oils and products from previous uses. If you’re not properly cleaning your hairbrush after every use your style can collapse sooner than desired. Read on to learn how to clean a hairbrush at home in 5 easy steps.
Step-by-step guide on how to clean a hairbrush from hair and build-up:
- At the end of each blow dry, be sure to remove all the hair from the brush – in the salon setting we have tools to do so but at home, you can just use a pen or the pointed side of a teasing brush
- With that pen, you then slide it through the bristles of the brush to loosen up the tangled hair
- Once hair is loosened, and not stuck to the flat of the brush, gather up that old hair and pull it out!
- Toss out that lovely hairball!!
- For sanitizing your hairbrush it is best to clean it out following the steps above and then fill the sink with warm water and add a dime size of shampoo. Wash the brush and bristles thoroughly, rinse well, and then towel dry!
You’ll be amazed how much longer your hairstyle will last when using a clean brush! Plus your hairbrush will last a lot longer, too!
Come on give it a try! 🙂
