When considering a Men’s haircut – no need to think so hard! Clippers cut the hair and scissors shape. Plain and simple.
Clippers give you hair that is two-dimensional. They’re good for cleaning up lines and removing a lot of hair all at once.
Scissors are more detailed in creating a shape and adding texture, which is good, because shape and texture are to grooming what fit is to clothing. It’s also perfectly appropriate to request a trim of the eyebrows, nose hair, ear hair, or a beard trim, if applicable.
Keep your eyebrows trimmed! I actually recommend getting them trimmed to open up the eyes, keeping the face more alert.
Clean the hair off your ears and neck too! The sight of long ear hairs, or neck hair going into the collar of your shirt, is never appealing.
