How To Take Care Of Over Processed Hair

Whether you had a bad color service or a heavy hand on your hot tools don’t feel the need to grab a hat just yet.

No matter how severe the damage may be breakage this is not a problem to just let it solve itself. Although damage is not the end of the world it is not fun to reverse and will take time and effort.

Here are a couple of tips to help you through the battle back to healthy hair.

hair-extensions processed hairThe best way to get rid of the damage would be to get most of it cut off, but most of us are not willing to give up all our length.

I would recommend trying to haircuts at least every 5 weeks to help stop your ends from splitting all the way up your hair stand.

Moisture and Protein

These will become your best friends. It’s one of the ways you that will help heal and stop any more damage from accruing.

-Moisture Shampoo/Conditioners are to help hydrate your actual hair strand and give back some of the life in your hair such as shine and manageability.

-If your hair has been through extreme damage your lacking protein in your hair. To help in this case you may want to try and aggressive approach like a Keratin Treatment, it will not only make your hair soft but will help restore and restructure all the proteins that have been stripped out of your hair.

Your hair is 98%protein and 2%moisture, this can play a huge role is to restore your hair back to its normal life.

-If your hair has not been too badly damaged I’d recommend either an in-salon deep conditioner or a take home. There is a lot of deep conditioners claiming they help with damage, but beware some contain alcohol or silicone which can cause your hair to break or become brittle.

With a deep conditioner, you should try to do 1 every 1-2weeks. My favorite is Neuma Moisture Intensive Masque it’s a hydrating treatment that seals in moisture and increases manageability.

The formula helps to deeply penetrate to condition, strengthen, and smooth while controlling frizz. Renews and restores hair, leaving it feeling softer, smoother and full of shine

Having and using the correct hot tool

Most women who use their hot tools on the daily figure the higher the heat the faster I’ll get done, but in reality, if you would turn down the temperature and take smaller sections of your hair you saving your hair from potential heat damage.

Also having the correct tools plays a huge roll in making sure that your flat iron and curling irons are friction-free and have ceramic plates that are healthier for your hair.

Giving your hair break

Instead of coloring your hair with permanent color doing a semi or demi-permanent will be less harsh on your hair.

If you like being a bright blonde maybe opt-out for going a little darker blonde or even adding some lowlights.
